He helps people move! Meet Parker Barrett, a rising junior and Aerospace Engineering major at Virginia Tech and a summer intern in JK’s Government Services Department. So …  what does one have to do with the other?   It started when Parker was 10 years old, and his family moved, using JK Moving to help them relocate. Parker remembers that the move had been a stressful time for him and his brothers, yet, “at the end of the day the crew took some time to stick around with a football to play catch with me and my brothers instead of just leaving.” This small act of kindness really resonated with Parker. JK Wildlife Sanctuary

JK Moving Makes Charitable Investment to Ensure Preservation of Land and Wildlife

JK Moving has partnered with the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy to protect an 87-acre parcel of land in northern Loudoun County, near Lucketts. The property has more native species of plant and wildlife indigenous to Loudoun and Virginia than is typical, and JK purchased it in 2018  with the intent to place it into conservation easement to protect from development in perpetuity. The Land Trust of Virginia, based in Middleburg, executed the easement for the property, which will be known as JK Wildlife Sanctuary. JK Hosts Airport Safety Service Dogs & Handlers

A few times each month, JK Moving welcomes officers and service dogs from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority K-9 Unit. These specially trained teams search for explosives at Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan National Airport. The officers and their dogs must go through continuous training in finding explosives. So, in real-life situations, they are equipped and ready to protect travelers through our local airports.
