At JK, our truck drivers are very important employees. JK hires and trains true professionals and just a few weeks ago, we held our 7th Annual Long Distance Drivers’ Conference in Williamsburg, VA. It was great to have the majority of our drivers join us from around the country, as we discussed company updates and held a variety of informational seminars on safety and financial planning, among other topics.
We’re serious about business, but I also like our team to know how much they are appreciated. At our final banquet, we announced the much-anticipated 2010 Driver Awards, and I am excited to share this year’s award winners:
JK Driver of the Year:
Glen Cooksey, who has been with JK since 1996, was selected for this honor for several reasons:
- second highest number of long distance shipments
- second highest amount of total weight hauled
- tied for the most outstanding customer service survey scores
- no driving violations on his record for the year
- lowest number of claims on his shipments
The Most Miles Driven Without an Accident: Dave Jones, who has been with JK for seven years
Cleanest Truck Award: Bobby Taylor, who has been with JK for 11 years
Newcomer Award: Jim Spearman, who joined JK last July
Most Improved: Scott Shall, who has been with JK for two years
Rookie of the Year: Fausto Escalante, who joined JK in 2000, but only started driving long distance for JK last year
Additionally, JK’s sister company, CapRelo, also gave out awards to two of our drivers:
Chris Lemm, who joined JK in 2009, was recognized for hauling the largest number of CapRelo shipments in 2010 (24 total).
Scott Schall, who was acknowledged for hauling the largest number of CapRelo shipments without a claim (14 total).
Check out the photos of a few of our outstanding drivers, accepting their well-deserved awards.
