It can be a challenging time to move mom and dad from a beloved, lifelong home to a new city or to an active adult community. The companies that assist with this process have dedicated professionals known as ‘senior move managers,’ and they have their own industry association. The National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) has declared this week (May 13 – May 19) National Senior Move Managers Week.
According to NASMM, this week is about promoting the value of Senior Move Management and their commitment to assisting older adults and their families; not only helping with the actual move experience, but also with the emotional and physical aspects of sorting through and downsizing a lifetime of belongings and memories in the relocation process. For several years now, JK has successfully worked with Senior Move Managers to deliver a stress-free move for senior citizens.
Our certified move consultants are assigned to specific active adult and retirement communities in order to provide familiarity for the residents and our crews. This ensures less stress on move day because our crews are already familiar with the community overall and with the community move coordinator.
Single Point of Contact:
All of our active adult and senior living moves are managed by the same person. On the day of the move, if there is an issue, the community move coordinator, the family, or the senior knows who to contact. And because the JK employee has been working with the family for the entire process they are readily available to answer any questions and handle any potential issues.
White Glove Treatment:
Our teams are patient and sensitive, and always take the extra step to ensure a smooth relocation. If a problem, concern, or question arises, we draw from our years of experience and take the time to resolve any issues.
Every member of our crews goes through training which allows us to enter the home with a highly-skilled crew, using the most state-of-the-art equipment, and moving supplies the industry has to offer. This commitment to training and equipment allows us to deliver a superior move experience.
We deliver all of these aspects on each and every one of our moves, but we do realize that moves involving active adults and seniors require a little more attention and care. We appreciate the work Senior Move Managers do every day and we are pleased to recognize them this week and we look forward to continue working with them in the future.
