We are involved in numerous professional associations because it allows us to stay current on the latest industry trends, newest equipment, and for us to network with other reputable service providers. We would like to discuss the residential associations we belong to and the benefits they provide.
AMSA is a national trade association for the moving industry and has created the ProMover designation; an initiative to help fight rogue movers. We are proud to call ourselves a ProMover because we agree with the goal to separate rogue movers from legitimate movers by promoting ethical principles in the moving industry. (You can visit the site to learn more about the requirements.) If you are choosing a ProMover, you can feel secure that they are following government regulations and policies that protect consumers.
International moving offers a unique set of challenges and FIDI’s goal is to position its members as the movers of choice for international relocations. We are currently one of only 50 U.S. companies certified by FIDI/FAIM, and one of 500 worldwide. FAIM is the only complete quality standard in the industry and every two years we are audited by an independent third party to maintain our good standing.
Customers preparing for an international move should know that FIDI/FAIM companies have been evaluated on their safety and security, equipment and materials, staff knowledge, customs documentation, and customer feedback. (Read here how we’re “Vain for FAIM.”)
Latin America & Caribbean International Movers Association (LACMA)
To become a member of LACMA, a mover must be nominated by two current members before the application process can start. With international moves, moving companies need a destination agent to oversee the delivery and customs clearance for the customer. We trust working with LACMA members because we know they are being held to the same standard we hold our crews and the level of service will be similar for our customers.
International Association of Movers (IAM)
IAM is committed to providing customers with the highest level of service available and holding their members accountable to that level of service. IAM uses the knowledge and experience of its members to act as a watchdog, working with the U.S. federal government and Federal Maritime Commission to protect consumers from rogue movers.
As an independent mover, JK has the ability to work with the best movers in the U.S. and across the world. We have joined these associations to stay current on the latest trends, best practices, and to meet other quality providers. By being able to choose the movers we work with, we can better control the quality of your move experience from beginning to end.
