At JK Moving Services we are very proud of all the associations we belong to, whether it’s the BBB or IOMI®.  Today, we want to discuss our global FIDI/FAIM accreditation. First, we are one of only 50 U.S. companies certified by FIDI/FAIM.

FIDI is the largest global alliance of quality, independent, international moving/removal companies. FIDI’s goal is to position its affiliates as the “mover of choice” for international relocations. FIDI establishes guidelines, quality control programs and training for movers across the world.  This is a brief overview of FIDI; visit their FIDI-FAIM for more information. (Please note, sound will play.)

FAIM (FIDI-Accredited International Mover) is the standard that sets FIDI apart.  It is the only complete quality standard for the international moving industry. Ernst and Young, an independent third party, audits a company every two years. What are they looking for in these audits? Ernst and Young is evaluating each moving company on safety and security, facilities, equipment and materials, staff knowledge, training, and quality of management, customs documentation, insurance and risk management, legal compliance, financial stability and customer feedback. This is a very thorough audit, which JK passed with flying colors this past January.

Why is this important to the customer? When a moving truck leaves your home to start a local move or even to move you to another state in the USA, you have the ultimate security option…you can follow it! Not quite so easy when it leaves your home to start its journey around the globe, whether by sea or by air! So at JK, we want you to have peace of mind and know who is handling your belongings, and that the company is completely in control of your move.  After we pack your goods, we use tamper proof vinyl seals on wood crates and special high tensile bolt seals on sea containers to secure your goods. (Watch our international YouTube video for more information.) This means the only people moving your possessions are the ones you see. Additionally, we prepare a legible, itemized inventory list, so your goods can have a hassle-free customs experience.

Another benefit of going with a FIDI/FAIM company is knowing that a governing body oversees the people who are coming into your home and handling all of your worldly possessions. You can rest a little easier knowing that your goods will arrive at your destination and not have to worry about unnecessary delays. We have GPS and web services for easy tracking of your belongings while in transit. Do you want to risk using a company that is not willing to get, or able to meet, the high standards of FIDI/FAIM certification?

We know that moving is a stressful time in one’s life, especially when moving overseas. Our FIDI/FAIM designation is important to us because we want to make your move as stress free as possible. We know it can be confusing, and we want to help clarify when we can.
