Q1. I’m just moving from my studio apt to another apt, how important is my estimate?
HAuston Very important, especially if moving on a budget.
JKMoving Incredibly important. Movers need to see all that’s moving, plus loading dock and elevator.
HAuston Scheduling is important. Make sure you understand the building rules for moving.
JKMoving To expand, some buildings only allow people to move in and out on certain days. Might not be on your ideal move date
Q2. What other responsibilities do customers have for an apartment move?
HAuston Check parking requirements, scheduling, any prohibited items, water bed, etc
HAuston Not all apartments are ready for gun safes, grand pianos, etc
JKMoving Customers are generally responsible for reserving the elevator and making sure that there is parking space for trucks
Movingpro You are not allowed to take plants across state lines.
Q3. What other challenges exist in an apartment move?
Movingpro Flights of stairs, other residents, limited parking and association regulations.
HAuston Consideration for neighbors, sharing elevators with other vendors, lack of entrances and security during the move.
JKMoving Reserve the necessary spaces (parking and elevator) as soon as possible. You might not be only one moving!
Q4. Any final words of advice for apt moves?
Movingpro Make sure you start looking for an apt in advanced, that way you will have time to to set up multiple appointments if needed.
JKMoving You might have to get creative on moving furniture that was assembled inside apt. Might not fit.
