Hurricane Sandy is building to be quite the storm here on the East Coast. All members of the JK family have checked in and everyone is doing fine. Despite the weather, our staff is in the office, our crews are on the road, and we’re open for business.
We realize that this storm could change course at any moment so we are constantly assessing the situation to make sure our crews are safe. All customers for Monday were called and given the option to re-schedule. We have sent extra crew members on the jobs to make sure our crews are back and safe by early afternoon.
We do not know what the fall out will be from the storm will be (power outages, road closures, downed trees, etc.), so we are actively calling all customers today with moves scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday to update them on their specific situation. We take the safety of our crews and our customers seriously, and would never put them in a position that would endanger them. If you are moving with us this week and would feel more comfortable re-scheduling, we have the flexibility, fleet, and crew capacity to handle your request. You can either call or email your move coordinator directly or you can call into the office:
- 301-340-6683 (Gaithersburg, MD office)
- 800-673-8487 (toll-free)
We are currently open and we plan on being in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday, however we are unable to predict power outages, downed trees, or road closures. (While we’re worried about customers not having power; JK has generators that are really helpful in weather like this.) Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for the latest updates, but until we know more, we’re going to keep doing what we do best, moving.
