Each year, the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) presents national awards recognizing safety in the moving industry. The three safety categories are: Fleet Safety Award, Fleet Safety Improvement Award, and Safety Initiative Award.
We are pleased to announce that JK has won a national fleet safety award for 2013! This is the first time that JK has won this award in the history of the company. AMSA’s fleet safety awards recognize carriers that demonstrate outstanding safety performance based on the carrier’s CSA BASIC measure scores. BASIC scores are comprised of Crash Indicator score, Vehicle Maintenance score, Controlled Substances/ Alcohol score, Driver Fitness score, Fatigued Driving score, and Unsafe Driving score. (If you have any questions about these scores, leave a note in the comments below.)
JK qualified in the five to 20 million miles category, and submitted its application with relevant safety data to AMSA in November 2013. The award is driven solely by each applicant’s U.S. Department of Transportation safety scores. The award measures JK’s entire fleet, including local, short-haul, and long distance drivers and equipment, for Commercial and Residential moving.
This award demonstrates JK’s dedication to safety across the enterprise. While fleet safety is overseen by the Safety team, it’s the daily dedication across the company that made this award possible. We thank teams across Residential and Commercial for reinforcing and practicing safety every day.
JK will officially receive its award during AMSA’s annual conference in February. Congratulations to all on this outstanding achievement!
